René Veillon (1864-1920) - Paysage de forêt

Forest landscape signed René Veillon. The artist, born in Orne, exhibited at the Caen Salons at the age of 19 and in other towns in the west as well as in the east where he later settled. A prisoner during the First World War, he depicted the conditions of captivity. The city of Alençon, in particular, acquired one of his works for the Musée des Beaux-Arts.
