Superb enamelled lava plaque by Jean JAFFEUX (1931-2015) - Circa 1960

Magnificent decorative wall plaque in enamelled lava stone, an original piece signed on the back by the renowned enamelist and Auvergne painter Jean Jaffeux.

This unique piece features remarkable enamelling work typical of the 1960s, with a stylized totemic / sacred art-inspired decor in deep burgundy, midnight blue and touches of ochre-gold on a cream background. The intensity of the colors and the relief of the enamels testify to the artist's perfect technical mastery (Volvic / Mozac school).

Artist: Jean Jaffeux (signed "JJaffeux" on the back)

Period: Circa 1960 / Mid-Century Modern

Origin: Auvergne, France (Unique piece)
