Description from the seller
Arcy, the pseudonym of Mariarcangela Laddaga, is an Italian artist specializing in portraiture and contemporary figurative painting. Born in Gravina in Puglia in 1994, she finds in the portrait the most suitable artistic language to explore emotions, identity, and human relationships, developing a particular attention to facial expressions and details. Her works, focused mainly on the female figure, delve into deep emotions, unexpressed feelings, and intimate dimensions of existence, entrusting communication to gestures, postures, and gazes. Thanks to the international market of online auctions, Arcy's art has reached private collectors in numerous European countries, including Belgium, Italy, Spain, Germany, and the Netherlands, consolidating an increasingly significant presence in the contemporary figurative scene.
In this intense figurative composition, Arcy depicts a young female figure immersed in a moment of contemplation and introspection. The face, deliberately hidden by the hair and by the position of the body, conveys an emotional dimension suspended between vulnerability and inner strength. Pages from a vintage book emerge from the dark background and become an integral part of the figure itself, merging written word and image into a single narrative. Inspired by the great masters of Italian art, the work combines the charm of figurative tradition with a contemporary expressive search. Through the use of acrylics in black and white on vintage book pages, Arcy builds a poetic and intense image where every element contributes to telling a silent and universal story.
The painting is in excellent condition and has a protective layer of varnish. The colors may differ slightly from the photos due to screen settings. The dimensions are 70x1x50 cm. It is hand-signed at the bottom left and counter-signed on the back. Needs a frame. The painting comes with a certificate of authenticity. The shipping times are 4-5 working days within Europe; 20 days for shipments outside Europe.
