The SURGE series captures the dynamism of elemental movements — alive, present, and expressive. The works live from the tense contrast between matte, raw cotton and intensely pulsating, deep acrylic layers. Broad brushstrokes and expressive gestures subtly make the physical energy of the painting process felt on the surface. While powerful, flowing forms dominate the compositions, targeted color accents elsewhere introduce lively, vital impulses. Because the unprimed canvas is deliberately left untouched in many areas, the works breathe and develop a fascinating, tangible depth.
