The Arrivals Gate is a limited edition 40 × 40 cm giclée on canvas, hand-signed by Le Yack, produced in France, delivered with a certificate of authenticity and numbered as one of 20 editions.
Description from the seller
This figurative work plunges us into the febrile waiting of a sunlit morning airport hall. In front of the sliding doors topped with the sign "ARRIVALS", a woman in a red coat stands upright, a bouquet of flowers clenched in her hands, watching for the arrival of a loved one. Her discreet elegance and her contemplative posture embody the hope of reunions long awaited.
But the scene’s ambiguity opens the story to many interpretations. Are the arrivals over? If so, perhaps the awaited one never came, leaving her alone with her flowers and her disappointment. Or should the truth be sought in the background, where a man walks away beside a blonde woman — and understand, as she has just done, that betrayal was at the end of the dock. The sun streams through the high glass roofs and floods the tiled floor with broad luminous trapezoids, creating a play of reflections and shadows of great graphic poetry. The contrast between the brightness of her scarlet coat and the terminal’s architectural coldness sculpts a decidedly Hopper-esque atmosphere. An invitation to introspection, celebrating those suspended moments when a life can tilt between hope and disillusion.
