The overlay of acrylics, textures, glazes, drips and gestural graphics builds a surface of great visual richness. The work is situated within contemporary abstraction, with influence from abstract expressionism, integrating organic shapes, dynamic lines and circular motifs that evoke movement and depth. A harmonious palette of blues, turquoise, and greens, complemented by ochres, golds, whites and subtle accents of red and black, achieves a balanced contrast between cool and warm tones, imparting strength, brightness and a marked expressiveness.
Alexander Lecusay Estrada was born on January 22, 1966 in Las Tunas, Cuba.
He graduated in drawing, engraving and painting at the National School of Plastic Arts (ENA), Cuba, in 1984. He has also worked as a drawing professor at the Professional Academy of Plastic Arts.
