The body of works titled “LUMINA” explores the interplay of light, color, and atmosphere. The pieces are created on unstretched cotton canvas, whose natural surface becomes part of the composition, giving the images an honest, unadulterated presence. The color is poured, poured and splashed directly onto the canvas without brushes or other tools – an intuitive, free painting process that gives each work its unmistakable dynamism. Multi-layer glazes and subtle textures create pictorial spaces of extraordinary depth and radiance. Between Color Field painting and lyrical abstraction, works of quiet presence emerge, which continually change with the light and the viewer’s perception. Each piece invites you to not only see color but to experience it.
