Description from the seller
“Bordeaux Dance” is an ongoing series of abstract paintings where movement, gesture and emotion meet in a reduced yet powerful visual language. Each work is a standalone unique piece, connected by a shared visual language: fine Bordeaux-colored lines, drops and condensations on a smooth, sand-colored surface.
At the center is the expression of movement and presence. The Bordeaux color is drawn, curved, and dropped intuitively and immediately, as in a dance. The composition feels like the recording of a fleeting gesture, captured on the canvas.
Particularly characteristic is the interplay of materials: the calm, finely sanded surface forms a bright, open space, while the Bordeaux color, with its high-gloss application, reflects light and makes the movement of the line visible. Fine splatters, drops and condensations are deliberately preserved, giving the work depth, tension and a strong physical presence.
The works in the series are inspired by Action Painting, yet deliberately rely on reduction and openness. Generous free spaces allow the gestures room to unfold and direct the gaze to rhythm, balance and the energy of the paint application.
“Bordeaux Dance” invites free interpretation. The series develops from work to work and remains open to new movements, new gestures and new readings—like a dance that constantly changes and yet follows its own pace.
