Description from the seller
Born in Sardinia on December 28, 1957, my name is Mauro Pani and I am a self-taught painter, with several regional exhibitions and a couple of collaborations with the Mario Mazzoleni Gallery, Artmajeur, and some scattered across the national territory. Many of my works now reside all over Europe. I don’t like galleries because I am very reserved; beauty and your art should not depend on the number of exhibitions you can afford to pay for.
The true protagonist of the composition is the theatrical light. With a masterful use of semi-transparent glazes and a strong chiaroscuro contrast, the artist makes beams of pulviscular light shower down from the ceiling and the large side windows, cutting through the darkness and illuminating the wet floor and the detritus of time. Each element, from the large central lifting hook suspended in mid-air to the rung ladder resting on the right, is rendered with rigorous technical care and a coherent perspective that gives the painting great spatial depth.
The last acrylic turn on canvas 70x50x1.6 cm, finished with a final protective coating.
. My signature is placed in original at the bottom right.
