Demon-Subduing Vajra-Peg, a 35 cm high, 502 g solid copper Phurba from Nepal in antique style and good condition, featuring a wrathful Hayagriva and Vajrakilaya motif with a cross-vajra knot and eight Auspicious Symbols on the handle.
Description from the seller
This solid, pure copper *Phurba* of Hayagriva and Vajrakilaya is crafted using the traditional lost-wax casting method. The top features an authentic, wrathful image of Hayagriva surrounded by multiple tiers of wrathful guardian faces, with facial features and fangs rendered in distinct, layered relief. The central handle is intricately chased with a cross-vajra knot and geometric "Eight Auspicious Symbols" patterns, showcasing complex, three-dimensional craftsmanship. The blade section features an eagle head grasping a tri-faceted point, while the shaft is entwined with a sacred serpent motif—symbolizing the Tantric ritual practice of purifying the three poisons: greed, hatred, and ignorance.
