Edition: 500 copies.
Castro is the most famous Chilean contemporary muralist. His works have traveled the world from America to China, passing through Europe.
This work is directly inspired by the universe of the Andean carnival, cultural mixing, and the region's traditions. It depicts a figure very important to the carnival and to Chileans, "the Kusillo", a sacred clown dressed in multicolored fabrics; he is the mediator between the human world and the spiritual world.
Here the artist's Kusillo takes us to the theme of chance and luck in a celestial world, in the colors of an Andean sacred dance.
The city of Arica is the city of the great Chilean Andean carnival; it is located at the northernmost part of the country, near the border with Peru and Bolivia.
In his notes, Inti even explains that Arica represents to him a doorway to Andean America and that:
"the sacred and the festive go hand in hand in the carnival."
One of the rare works truly inspired by Andean indigenous cultures!
Carefully shipped and protected with insurance and delivery against signature.
