Wall sconce (2) - Gilt bronze

At auction, an elegant pair of three-light wall sconces, each in solid gilt bronze finely chiselled in the Louis XVI style with evident references to neoclassical decorations.
The sinuous lines of the arms, the foliate motifs, the spiral volutes and the central floral details recall the great French and Italian decorative tradition of the 18th century.
The sconces have a rich and substantial finish with a strong visual impact, ideal for prestigious interiors, boutiques, hotels, and professional studios.
The gilt bronze with hot gilding preserves a splendid original and authentic patina.
On the back a strong natural oxidation is visible, linked to the years past and to the copper content in the bronze.
We also note original screws, and authentic wooden lamp holders.
The pair of wall lamps is in perfect condition, having undergone restorations in the past.
