Description from the seller

Berlin Series 1900-1933. Piece VI

Original oil on panel by Carola Castro delivered perfectly framed with a large period frame.

The expressionist brushwork was not intended to reflect reality objectively, but to deform it to convey emotions, existential anguish, and the deep social crisis of the era.

Berlin managed to attract toward it and launch into the world crucial pages of the contemporary poetic adventure.
I am passionate about that use of violent colors and energetic brushstrokes of that era.

They used an aggressive brushstroke and very bright colors to capture the chaos, fear, and uncertainty of those years.

Impossible to leave this movement for my work!!

All works are shipped with *CUSTOM PACKAGING FOR EACH PAINTING.
THE SHIPPING COST IS HIGHER DUE TO SENDING A PERFECTLY FRAMED PAINTING.

* SOLD WITH LUXURY FRAME INCLUDED.

Dimensions of the work with frame: 100x68x8

I aim to move within the action of continually reinventing cubism with a contemporary air.
I regularly access parameters I consider recurrent, such as the constant assimilation of images from the past, playing with the language of others, focusing on old and modern painters.
I feel the sensation of a constant plunge into the history.

My study and research of the cubist movement, especially the entire extensive trajectory of Picasso, take me through unknown territories.

In each painting I try to undertake a review of the problems and solutions that Picasso posed with Cubism.
To me, Cubism is a very important movement within the history of art.
