MEDSAN presents Akira Neo-Tokyo Drift (爆走アキラ) — UNIQUE EDITION, a 60 × 40 cm Giclée on paper, signed, edition 1/1, produced in 2026 in France, in the Pop Art style with a Culture Pop theme.
Description from the seller
There Is Only One in the World - Edition 1/1
With this landscape-format work, Medsan pays vibrant homage to the masterwork of Japanese animation — Akira by Katsuhiro Otomo — reinterpreted through the ancestral technique of sumi-e (ink painting) on aged washi paper. This giclée features a rider launched at full speed on his futuristic motorcycle, in a posture of spectacular sliding that evokes Kaneda's famous chase through Neo-Tokyo. The visual impact and the strength of the composition lie in the blazing red trail left by the machine: a vermilion ink streak, the sole splash of color, sweeping the composition in a dynamic curve, scattering debris and sparks. In the second plane, the sprawling megalopolis rises in washes of gray, its skyscrapers swallowed by the mist, dominated at a distance by the immutable silhouette of Mount Fuji. The red katakana cartouche (爆走 アキラ — “mad dash”) and the artist’s hanko seal anchor this cyberpunk vision in the Japanese pictorial tradition. The contrast between the spontaneity of the ink line and the kinetic energy of the scene creates a visual tension of great power. A conceptual piece, at once aesthetic, nerve-rending and nostalgic, ideal for bringing a pop, graphic, and deeply cinephilic touch to a design-focused, contemporary interior.

About the Atelier: Atelier Joconde is a studio of artists gathered around a living and plural contemporary creation. Established as a true center of artistic production, the studio operates both in collective creation and in individual approaches, depending on projects and works. Atelier Joconde is also a family venture. Le Yack, a contemporary figurative painter, develops a narrative and introspective body of work with cinematic and realistic influences. Alongside him, Medsan, oriented toward pop art painting, explores color, modern iconography, and visual culture. Finally, Neo Pablo engages in a more instinctive search, blending abstract art, naïve art, and figurative abstraction. Each work is conceived, created, and followed within the studio, with a shared artistic standard and an identity unique to each artist.
Keywords: Medsan, Atelier Joconde, Le Yack, Akira, Kaneda, Neo-Tokyo, Moto, Sumi-e, Encre de Chine, Washi, Cyberpunk, Anime, Manga, Mount Fuji, Hanko, Pop Art, Mashup, Landscape format, Contemporary, Red, Edo
