Baron von Poschinger – Large Neo-Art Nouveau Vase – Germany, circa 1980
Hand-blown studio glass vase from the traditional glassworks Freiherr von Poschinger from Frauenau (Bavarian Forest).
High-quality furnace work from the Art Nouveau reproduction series around 1980.
Form:
Symmetrical four-lobed mouth with four hand-formed waves.
Effect:
Intact luster-crackle on the surface. The glass underneath is stable and flawless. It creates a nacreous rainbow iridescence.
Decoration:
Hand-painted enamel painting with a autumnal ideal landscape (birds in flight on the front, tree with wooden fence on the back).
Base:
Polished pontil scar (pontil mark) proving pure handwork.
Condition:
Excellent. No chips, no cracks or scratches. Glass and decoration are flawless. Minimal signs of use inside.
Special feature: The original, square gold-red paper manufacturer label ("Freiherr v. Poschinger since 1605 mouth-blown") is perfectly preserved.
