Medsan’s 2026 hand-signed giclée, Lost Giant Pikachu (迷子の巨大ピカチュウ), is an edition of 3, 40 × 60 cm, mounted on a wooden frame with a Pop Art Ukiyo-e mashup of a colossal Pikachu amid a snowy Edo village.
Description from the seller
With this portrait-format work (40 × 60 cm), Medsan presents a striking mashup that pits the most famous icon of modern Japanese pop culture against the melancholic poetry of a winter landscape from the Edo era. This giclée features a colossal Pikachu, rising in kaiju fashion (giant monster) in the middle of a traditional snow-covered village.
The emotion of the composition lies in the contrast between the character's innocent nature and the consequences of its size. The electric giant with bright yellow fur, frozen under the snowflakes, displays an expression of confusion, sadness and profound loneliness. At its feet, the result of its clumsiness is visible: a wooden house with a thatched roof lies crushed and disassembled. Footprints in the snow and the total absence of human presence emphasize that the villagers have fled, leaving the creature alone facing its accidental disaster.
The impact of the composition is masterfully highlighted by a cold, desaturated color palette — dominated by grays, nocturnal blues and the white of snow — which makes the bright yellow of the central character stand out all the more. The bold line work scrupulously respects the codes of ukiyo-e prints, recalling the famous winter scenes of Hiroshige, while infusing them with a dramatic pop-art dimension. The traditional vertical cartouche, placed this time in the top left, houses the artist’s signature in katakana (メドサン) and anchors the work in its timeless style.
A conceptual piece, at once aesthetic, poetic and tinged with black humor, ideal for bringing a pop, graphic and deeply narrative touch to a design-oriented contemporary interior.

About the Atelier:
Atelier Joconde is an atelier of artists brought together around a living and plural contemporary creation. Set up as a true artistic production space, the studio operates both in collective creation and in individual approaches, depending on the projects and works. Atelier Joconde is also a family venture. Le Yack, a contemporary figurative painter, develops a narrative and introspective body of work with cinematic and realistic influences. Beside him, Medsan, oriented toward pop art painting, explores color, modern iconography and visual culture. Finally, Neo Pablo follows a more instinctive path, blending abstract art, naive art and figurative abstraction. Each work is conceived, created and followed within the studio, with a common artistic standard and an identity unique to each artist.
