Description from the seller
Profile プロフィール|Usami Keiji 宇佐美圭司(うさみけいじ)
The biggest characteristic of Keiji Usami's print works is an intellectual and philosophical world view woven by "encoded human figures" and "meticulously designed space structures". Straight lines and grids (lattices) drawn on the screen play a role like "circuits" that express relationships between encoded human figures and structures of society. Viewers will experience intellectual excitement and logical beauty by following the screen assembled precisely like a puzzle with their eyes. Keiji Usami's prints can be enjoyed not only with sensibility but also with "intellect", and can be said to be one of the destinations of postwar Japanese contemporary art.

Keiji Usami (1940-2012) is a contemporary painter representing postwar Japan from Osaka prefecture. He incorporated elements of human bodies and press photos, and created many pioneering paintings and murals fusing philosophy and structural thinking.
