Description from the seller
Artist brochure about Bengt Olson (approx. 20 pages), cover hand-painted by the artist (original mixed media/acrylic) and signed by hand. With a personal dedication by the artist on the inside front.
Provenance:
The presented unique piece originates from the archive of the former Herars GmbH gallery, Hanau (owner: Martha Bosiak). After the GmbH was dissolved about 32 years ago, the work came into the possession of the son, Mr. Fritz G. Scharer. About 10 years ago, the object was acquired from his holdings in the context of a private purchase.
This purchase contract in its original form (unredacted) as well as the accompanying brochure will be part of this auction and put up for bidding.
Condition & Special features:
The special feature lies in the protective cover used by the artist as a “canvas.” Since it is a proof copy from gallery stock that remained in family ownership (Bosiak/Scharer) for decades, the authenticity of the painting and the signature is thoroughly documented.
