Ercole Olivetti (1874-1941) - La casa nel bosco

Ercole Olivetti was born in Turin in 1874, where he died in 1941. He was a pupil at the Accademia Albertina under Grosso and Gilardi. He exhibited at the Torino Promotrice from 1898 onward and at the Milan Promotrice from 1900. An able landscape painter, uncommon on the market, he was also a miniaturist; his work includes a portrait of Prince Umberto in ivory. He exhibited in Florence, Genoa, Paris.

The work is an oil on panel of 37 x 28 cm in good condition, with a small loss of color at the upper right visible in the photo. The panel is slightly warped. It has no date, but stylistically it can be placed between the end of the 19th century and the first decades of the 20th century. Signed in oil at the lower left.
