Original first edition of Parallèlement by the famous French symbolist poet Paul Verlaine (1844–1896), published by Léon Vanier in Paris in 1889.

This edition belongs to the original edition of one of Verlaine's best-known poetry collections. The book contains the original title page with the year 1889, the publisher's catalog at the back, and the mention of the printer Charles Hérissey in Évreux. The catalog refers to works that at that time were still "en préparation," which corresponds to the first edition from 1889.

The copy is bound in a sturdy hard cover and, given its age of more than 135 years, is in good antique condition. The interior is complete and readable, with normal age- and handling-related signs of wear. Additionally, the book contains an old handwritten dedication to J.
