Description from the seller
With this photograph, Schaller turns the ordinary into the extraordinary: three dogs on a sidewalk, captured in black and white with natural light.
Behind the lens of his Leica, he observes and captures scraps of daily life; this street photograph, stripped of artifices, elegantly reveals each animal's personality and the tangible bond that unites them.
Alan Schaller was born in 1988 in London. He began photography as a hobby, but only a year later his work was published in UK magazines and newspapers. Since then, his career and recognition have continued to grow, and today he is regarded as one of the most prominent photographers of his generation. Described by Leica as «an icon of contemporary black-and-white photography» and by TeNeues as a benchmark that «sets the standards for modern street photography», his work is characterized by strong contrast, emphasis on shapes and structures, and a focus on urban life.
As a cofounder of Street Photography International, he has played a key role in promoting and supporting emerging street photographers from around the world.
