Intuition and Abstraction
Manuela Decker (born 1973) is a contemporary German painter who lives and works in Osnabrück. Self-taught, she has developed an unconventional, deeply emotional visual language that moves freely beyond academic constraints. Under the studio name Gallery M she presents her works to an international audience.

Artistic Profile & Style
Manuela Decker’s works are associated with abstract expressionism and modern informal art. The focus of her work is the process of letting go. Her large-format acrylic paintings often arise impulsively and intuitively—guided by momentary impressions, moods, and the dynamics of color itself.

Technique:
She predominantly works with acrylic paints, pastels, and texture-building mixed media on canvas. The color application is layered, sometimes boldly thickened, sometimes softly brushed or glazed. This gives her paintings a tactile depth. Contrasts: A recurring motif is the play with extreme opposites. In series such as “Better in black,” she contrasts deep, dark surfaces with sudden, luminous color explosions or minimalist lines. Imperfect and raw elements are deliberately staged as aesthetic components.

Philosophy and Intent:
For Manuela Decker, art is an outlet for the unsayable. She does not want to force a fixed interpretation on the viewer, but rather to offer room for personal associations and feelings. Her art seeks dialogue with the subconscious.
