Description from the seller

Large spherical vase in Murano artistic glass, ruby red – Space Age – Italy, 1970s

Spectacular artistic vase in authentic blown Murano glass, a refined expression of Italian design from the Space Age period, dating to the Seventies. Its perfectly spherical, essential and timeless profile, combined with the deep ruby red color, makes it a true glass sculpture capable of embellishing any environment.

Made entirely by hand in the Murano furnaces according to the Venetian tradition, the vase features a precious double-layer workmanship (likely incamiciato glass), characterized by extraordinary color depth and a perfectly glossy surface, able to reflect light with elegance and intensity.

The form is the classic globular shape, harmonious and perfectly balanced, with a short neck and a wide opening slightly flared and finished with a hot polish. The base, in glossy black glass applied hot, provides stability and creates a refined color contrast with the intense red of the main body.

At the bottom there is a scratch-incised mark, probably an identifying sign of craftsmanship or a monogram, not reliably attributable to a specific furnace. The milled pontil and the typical features of mouth-blown manual working are also clearly visible, elements that testify to the authenticity of Murano craftsmanship.

For elegance of proportions, execution quality, and formal research, this vase fully belongs to the best production of Murano art glass in the Seventies, a period when pure geometric shapes became protagonists of Italian design.

Our interior architect/designer friend recommends placing it as a central piece on a console, sideboard, or a prominent table, where its sculptural silhouette and ruby red color can interact with natural light, becoming the focal point of the room.

Dimensions: 20 cm high, 22 cm maximum diameter, and 11 cm diameter of the mouth. Weight: 1.640 kg.

Condition: very good. The vase is intact, with beautiful original brilliance. Only very slight signs of age and use are present, mainly on the resting base, compatible with its age and clearly visible in the photographs.

The photographs are an integral part of the description. Guaranteed careful packing entrusted to industry professionals.
