Relief, Vantail meuble, Annonciation gothique - 54 cm - Oak

Gothic cabinet door leaf held in a frame. The carved element is cracked, hence the presence of the frame. Gabriel, kneeling, holds a two-handed sceptre between two twisted columns. The winged angel, with mid-length hair, is wrapped in a cloak. On the right, a later carved wooden floral motif replaces the original lock. On either side, one can observe a bird and a flowerpot (lilies?).

Provenance: Hôtel des ventes de Charleville-Mézières (Ardennes)

Dating: 1480/1520

Subsequent restorations: a rosette was added to fill the position of the lock.
