Andrea Krauß counts among the prominent figures of contemporary German painting. The winner of the AOK Nordost Art Prize (Berlin/Brandenburg) and former fellow of the renowned Lukas Artist House in Ahrenshoop completed her studies at the Braunschweig University of Fine Arts. For many years she has dedicated herself to painting and today lives and works in her studio in the heart of Berlin.

At the center of her artistic work is the combination of memory, atmosphere, and landscape. Starting from personal impressions, Andrea Krauß develops image worlds that go beyond the individual and touch universal experiences of nature, space, and transience. Recurrent motifs are especially birches and other elements of nature, whose quiet presence intertwines with traces of human design and memory.
