Description from the seller

Rare original historical Placard (poster size) from the turbulent period of the Batavian Republic, dated March 13, 1798. This official government document shows the reorganization and the complete list of names of the "Raad der Gemeente in den Haag". It provides a unique and detailed glimpse into who held the key positions and committees in the city at the time. Printed by the official Hague city printer J. de Groot Az., located opposite the Lutherse Kerk (the current Lutherse Burgwal).

Dimensions: Impressively large format of 54 x 44 cm.
Condition: The document is in an authentic, lived-in state appropriate to its age, 225 years old.
Because these posters were often displayed outdoors or discarded after replacement, complete copies in this state are relatively rare.

Unique Masterpiece 1743: Acte van Concurrentie - Tractaat van Weenen 1731 (quarto)
Rare well-preserved official government document from the eighteenth century. It concerns the original print of the "Acte van Concurrentie van de Staaten Generaal der Verenigde Nederlanden" issued in the year 1743.
Condition: Excellent antiquarian condition. Printed on handmade rag paper with the mold (the deep relief of the lead type) still very clearly visible and feelable on the blank reverse side.
Dimensions: 20.5 x 16 cm, confirming that the document was printed in the then very popular quarto format.
