2 volumes, quarto (20 x 26.5 cm), Vol. I: iii-(5)-916 pp.; Vol. II: (8)-894-(26) pp., bound. Marbled calf, spine with raised bands, gilt filet on the edges, red edges. Contemporary binding. Three headcaps shaved, corners worn, one corner damaged, beginning of a split on one hinge, some epidermal wear at the edges, quires misfolded at the center of Vol. II, pale damp stains on two boards, small wormholes along the bottom margin in the inner part of a gathering near p. 323 in Vol. I without affecting the text, damp stains toward the end of Vol. II, sporadic browning.

Eight edition of this famous treatise on rural economy, largely enriched, reorganized and augmented with several sections devoted to the virtues of medicinal plants, to the apothecary and to the provisions of French law relating to rural questions.

It is illustrated with a frontispiece and 37 plates.

A small handwritten note pp. 444-445 is bound into the work.
