Description from the seller
Arnaud Puig, known by the name ARDPG (born in 1980), is a French contemporary artist whose work traces its roots to 1990s graffiti before evolving into a conceptual approach that blends typography, architecture and art history. His works explore the power of words and their ability to reveal an image, inviting the viewer to a reading that is both visual and intellectual. Today, ARDPG exhibits his work in numerous galleries and institutions in France and internationally. ([JAGAL - Maison d'Art][1])
1984-2019 #2 is an emblematic wall sculpture of this artistic exploration. Executed in relief (73 × 60 × 3 cm), the piece depicts a face entirely composed of cut-out letters that overlap to form a striking portrait. Depending on the viewing angle and distance, the text gradually reveals the face, creating a subtle dialogue between language, memory and perception. This work perfectly illustrates ARDPG's singular universe, where writing becomes matter and the image is built through words.
