Description from the seller
Oil on canvas
Measures: 58 x 45 cm
In this work I have sought to explore the most intimate and silent relationship we maintain with ourselves. The figure, depicted from behind and enveloped in a serene atmosphere, embraces in a gesture that for me symbolizes the need for refuge, acceptance and inner balance.
I deliberately dispensed with the facial expression so that it is the hands and the posture that convey the emotion. That delicate contact on the skin speaks of vulnerability, but also of strength; of the ability to find calm and solace within oneself.
Through soft light and a pared-down composition, I have aimed to create a contemplative space where silence takes center stage. More than a portrait, this work is a reflection on introspection and on the beauty that exists in those moments of inward gathering when, far from the external noise, we reconnect with our own essence.
Artist: Lisbet Cuellar with a bachelor's degree in Theater Art with a focus on Scenic Design, at ISA (Instituto Superior de Arte), Cuba
Other studies: introductory course in Visual Arts, Centro Experimental de las Artes Visuales "Antonio Díaz Peláez", Havana, Cuba
