Description from the seller
There is a tree that grows only at night, when no one is watching.
Its roots are gold. Its branches reach for something just outside the frame. And where the leaves should be — there are only circles. Hundreds of them. Each one a thought that never finished, a memory still turning, a moment caught mid-spiral before it could escape.
The Golden Tree is not a painting about a tree. It is a painting about everything that accumulates inside a person over a lifetime — the things that orbit you, the things you cannot release, the things that keep spinning long after you've stopped thinking about them.
I built the gold ground first, scratching and ageing it before a single spiral was painted, so that what you see behind the circles is not decoration but depth. The tree grows from that depth — fluid, anatomical, reaching. The spirals follow its branches the way thoughts follow memory: dense and overlapping where the crown explodes, loosening as they drift down toward the silence of the gold below.
No two circles are the same. No two moments ever are.
Artist: Corina Dinu, Romanian, b. 1979. Studied Fine Arts and at the Istituto Marangoni. Exhibited internationally, including at the Tate Gallery and Rippingham, London.
