Description from the seller

George Chevalier Panther "Baccarat"
This is a crystal Art Deco tiger sculpture in cubist style, designed by the French designer Georges Chevalier for the famous glass maker Baccarat.
Design year: circa 1925.

Style: Modernist, cubist, and abstract-geometric.

Material: Made from a single solid piece of clear lead crystal.

Dimensions: Approximately 10 cm high and 14.5 cm long.

Brand information: Original early examples from this period are unsigned. It was only from 1937 that Baccarat began to structurally equip its figurines with a brand name or etched stamp.

Georges Chevalier began at Baccarat in 1916 and played a key role in modernizing the luxury brand's style in the 20th century. This specific figurine (sometimes also referred to as a panther) is a sought-after collector’s piece from the heyday of the Art Deco period.

The panther is in good condition; on the bottom of the panther there is only a small air bubble that formed during production.
Very modern design for a sculpture that is 101 years old.
Year 1925
Dimensions 10.5 x 15 x 6 cm
Weight 1029 grams
