German school (XX) - Caballero con armadura

Oil painting on canvas of a noble knight in armor, late 19th to early 20th century? Probably of German school.
Inventory inscriptions "No. 14", "65" and the old lot number "8873".
The work is presented framed with an elegant Historicist moulding from the 19th or early 20th century, gilded with patina and decorated with vegetal carvings of acanthus leaves and floral motifs in the corners.

Conservation state: Good overall considering its age. It shows a natural, uniform, sound craquelure across the entire painted surface, consistent with aging.
The frame shows an antique but very decorative patina; healthy wood.
