Description from the seller

Rare Duo of Talavera Ceramic Wall Plates SASO – Complementary Scenes of Don Quixote (Circa 1950)

Magnificent set of two decorative earthenware plates in traditional Talavera de la Reina glaze, Spain, fully hand-painted.

The rarity of this lot lies in its unique narrative concept: the two pieces respond to each other and form a single visual story from the famous novel by Miguel de Cervantes.

* The two-panel story:
- First plate: The idealistic knight Don Quixote leads the way in the foreground, proudly riding Rosinante in search of adventures.
- Second plate: His faithful squire Sancho Panza follows closely on his donkey, traversing the same rolling countryside of La Mancha. The horizon lines and the graphic style perfectly link the two works.

* Technical details:
- Manufacture: Signed on the back with the official handwritten stamp "TALAVERA SASO" (Workshop of craftsman Elidio Sánchez Sosa).
- Design: Beautiful beaded and wavy border, accented by a bright blue edge typical of this collector’s series.
- Condition: Excellent vintage condition. The glaze retains all its original shine and colors. No major cracks.
- Installation: The two plates are equipped with their original wall-mounting system on twisted wire on the back. Ready to be displayed side by side.

An indispensable duo for collectors of Iberian ceramics, maiolicas, or to elevate interior decor with a touch of history and character.

Note: The plates are inseparable and sold exclusively as a pair to preserve the integrity of the work.
