The key figure in the poster production for the Antwerp Zoo after World War II is without a doubt René Van Poppel. One of the best-known zoo posters that left Van Poppel's workshop is the watchful polar bear, which stands strikingly against a blue background with the Scheldt, the cathedral and the KBC building.
