This is a black-and-white photograph by Wolfgang Krolow from 1986. Depicted is, from a frog’s-eye view, a chain carousel named ‘Wellenflug’ (= wave swinger). The photo was taken during the ‘Kreuzberger Festliche Tage’, an annual late-summer funfair held since 1949 in Viktoriapark. Wolfgang Krolow is known for his photographs of Berlin-Kreuzberg, the poetic and socially critical snapshots of a district.
The photograph is verso devoted and signed in felt pen ‘Für Reinhard Wolfgang KROLOW‘, as well as inscribed and dated in felt pen ‘Kreuzberg 2011.‘. The photograph bears, besides, a small stain and minimal traces of wear in very good condition. The image size is 29.2 x 39.4 cm and the dimensions of the sheet are 40.5 x 30.5 cm.
