"L'Ami Improbable" takes place at the hour when the sun has decided to leave but hasn't quite finished saying goodbye. A Mediterranean terrace, an infinity pool, a coastline dissolving into gold, and two figures standing in the water who have no business being in the same painting, let alone the same embrace.
He holds the animal the way you hold something you found and cannot explain. Arms wrapped around the striped neck, face pressed into the space between the mane and the shoulder, eyes closed, the full weight of his body leaning into a creature that should be standing on a plain somewhere in East Africa and is instead standing in a hotel swimming pool on the Côte d'Azur. He is completely bare. The zebra is completely itself. Neither of them seems to find the situation unusual, which is exactly what makes it impossible to look away.

The water reaches their knees, turquoise and still except for the slow ripples spreading from where their bodies meet. The light paints them both in the same warm gold, skin and stripes reflected together on the surface in long distorted lines that make it difficult to tell where one ends and the other begins. Behind them, the sea stretches to the horizon and the cliffs catch the last of the day.
On the limestone edge behind them, a white towel has been dropped on a sun lounger, a pair of leather sandals left where they fell, and a glass of wine stands half empty, catching the amber light. These are the remains of a normal afternoon that became something else entirely when an impossible friend arrived and was welcomed without question.

The artwork explores themes such as the unexpected in the familiar, tenderness across boundaries, the surreal made natural, shared solitude and the beauty of encounters that cannot be explained, rendered through a contemporary figurative visual language with warm Mediterranean light and classical compositional structure.

T. Pimenta is a Portuguese artist whose commitment to creating visually striking artworks seeks to develop pieces capable of establishing visual presence and emotional connection with viewers and collectors.
The creative process begins with an initial conceptual construction, where the central narrative and emotional direction of the composition are defined. Subsequently, the artistic vision is developed through Adobe tools, digital construction processes and the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI), adding depth, texture, light and structural refinement.
His approach combines traditional artistic sensibilities with contemporary digital techniques, allowing the exploration of different visual languages and the continuous expansion of creative possibilities. Advanced digital tools support specific stages of the creative development process, introducing new compositional and detailing possibilities, while artistic direction, aesthetic selection and final refinement remain under human intervention.

Each artwork additionally receives a manual finishing intervention through an individual hand-applied artistic varnishing process, designed to reinforce luminosity, visual depth and material presence.
