"Le Miel" is not about honey. It is about the moment before the honey lands, the second where it hangs in the air between a man's own hand and his own skin, thick and golden and slow enough to watch your own patience run out.
He sits between the other man's legs, leaning back into him the way you lean into something you have already decided to trust. His right arm is raised above his own chest, holding a carved wooden dipper, tilting it slowly until a thick golden thread stretches downward toward his bare skin. His eyes are turned upward, following the slow fall with the quiet attention of someone who is choosing exactly where to mark himself. He is not receiving. He is performing. And he knows we are watching.
Behind him, the other man holds him with both hands, one palm flat against the stomach, fingers spread, the other resting on his thigh. He does not touch the honey. He does not need to. His role is to be the surface this man leans against while he anoints himself. He looks at us past the other man's temple, with an expression that is neither invitation nor warning but something in between that the viewer will have to name for themselves.
A dark stoneware jar sits beside them, open, golden honey trailing slowly down its side. The exposed brick behind them catches the warm light. The room is simple, bare, reduced to surfaces and skin and the single bright thread connecting a hand above to the body it belongs to. Everything else has been removed because everything else was unnecessary.
The artwork explores themes such as ritual and anticipation, the erotics of patience, self-exhibition as an act of trust, and the body as a surface that receives meaning through its own attention, rendered through a contemporary figurative visual language with warm interior light and classical compositional structure.
T. Pimenta is a Portuguese artist whose commitment to creating visually striking artworks seeks to develop pieces capable of establishing visual presence and emotional connection with viewers and collectors.
The creative process begins with an initial conceptual construction, where the central narrative and emotional direction of the composition are defined. Subsequently, the artistic vision is developed through Adobe tools, digital construction processes and the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI), adding depth, texture, light and structural refinement.
His approach combines traditional artistic sensibilities with contemporary digital techniques, allowing the exploration of different visual languages and the continuous expansion of creative possibilities. Advanced digital tools support specific stages of the creative development process, introducing new compositional and detailing possibilities, while artistic direction, aesthetic selection and final refinement remain under human intervention.
Each artwork additionally receives a manual finishing intervention through an individual hand-applied artistic varnishing process, designed to reinforce luminosity, visual depth and material presence.
