Nepal-origin necklace of prayer beads made from phenol resin and conch shell, about 88 cm long with 1.8 cm beads and a bone clasp, featuring three white conch-shell beads and dating from 1960–1980 in good used condition.

This necklace, originating from Nepal or the northern part of India, has an overall length of about 88 cm. It serves as jewelry, a protective amulet, and a meditative aid when reciting mantras. The beads have a diameter of about 1.8 cm and most of the beads are made of copal or phenolic resin amber, a material highly valued in the Himalaya region. The three white beads are made of fossil shell, also known as conch, which in Buddhism holds a ritual significance as one of the eight auspicious symbols (Ashtamangala). The clasp bead is made of bone.
