The series of works “TRACE” celebrates the beauty of the imperfect in the spirit of Wabi-Sabi and blends graphic precision with intuitive freedom. On unprimed, raw cotton, the brushstrokes leave their traces – deliberately not perfectly straight, with frayed edges and without precise edges. One sees and feels the natural fiber and the weave of the fabric, which gives the works an honest, organic materiality. From this interplay of reduced, monochrome clarity and movement arises a harmonious balance of order and dynamics. The images manage to radiate a deep visual calm while at the same time bringing a subtle, atmospheric tension into the room. Graphic, minimalist and profound at the same time: a perfectly imperfect statement that fits ideally into contemporary, elegant and minimalist interiors.
