Antique 4/4 violin from Austria, manufactured before 1900, brand unknown, model unspecified, in good condition and tested and fit for use.
Description from the seller
The item for sale is an antique 4/4 violin made before 1900, attributed to the Austrian school.
The instrument was assessed by a professional luthier in 2018. The maker remains unknown, and the instrument has no label.
The violin is crafted from high-quality luthier’s wood:
piały wierzchnia – dwuczęściowy świerk,
płyta spodnia – jednolity jawor falisty,
boczki – jawor falisty,
-główka – jednolity jawor falisty.
The instrument is coated with a brown varnish, which has preserved the natural patina resulting from its age.
Condition is good. The top plate, back plate, and headstock are in good condition. In the right waist there is a professionally glued crack in the rib. On the back plate there are varnish wear marks, which are normal signs of use appropriate for a instrument over a hundred years old.
Body dimensions:
length of back plate: 359 mm,
upper width: 164 mm,
lower width: 200 mm.
To the violin I attach a luthier’s opinion dated 27.11.2018, confirming dating, the school of construction, and the instrument’s condition.
