Description from the seller
Il Sogno di Icaro – Oil on canvas, contemporary figurative art
Original work of strong emotional intensity and technique, in which the human body becomes a tool of psychological expression and inner tension. The composition depicts a male figure gathered in a complex and almost sculptural pose, suspended between vulnerability, defense and a search for identity.
Anatomy, rendered with notable pictorial precision, is the absolute protagonist of the work: soft lights and warm tones model the body with a sensitivity almost Renaissance-like, while the twists of the arms and legs create a dynamic and theatrical construction. The gesture of the face, partially hidden, suggests introspection, silence and inner conflict.
The white drapery introduces a reference to classical tradition, evoking ancient sculpture and academic painting, yet reinterpreted with a deeply contemporary sensibility. The feather on the floor, a delicate symbolic element, adds a sense of fragility and poetic suspension.
The sober color palette, built on earthy and fleshy tones, gives unity and refinement to the entire composition, while the neutral background concentrates all attention on the physical and emotional presence of the subject.
An elegant and intense work, ideal for collectors of contemporary figurative art, capable of uniting technical virtuosity and narrative depth.
