Description from the seller
Author: DIAN PETROV, born 1984 in VELIKO Tarnovo." tenderness in blueI "130/170 см. send with Bulgarian Post but it has not been possible to America for two or three months. Now, because of the war, some of the countries in the Middle East have stopped delivering there. So if someone takes the painting from these two destinations, the shipping price will be different. Greetings, to all.
Signature, certificate."The painting is made with a lot of emotion and attention to color and form. I started with the idea of a female figure placed in nature — a symbol of harmony, beauty, and tranquility. I mainly used blue tones, mixing different shades — from light blue to deep dark blue — to create a sense of depth and movement.
Around the figure, I built plant motifs and flowers that envelop it and connect it to nature. I worked with freer strokes to maintain the feeling of manual movement and living energy in the canvas. The light on the body is built through contrasts between the cold blue colors and the softer warm shades of the background.
My idea was to create not just an image, but a mood — a quiet, mysterious scene in which man and nature are one. The painting brings a sense of tenderness, freedom, and inner peace."

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION ABOUT THE ARTIST
Dian graduated from the National High School of Applied Arts "Trevnenska Shkola", majoring in woodcarving, and then from the Faculty of Fine Arts at the University of Veliko Tarnovo. He has long been fascinated by wood, its warmth and coziness. His skillful hands have sculpted the iconostases of more than three temples in different villages in the region. His work is the carved altar screens of the churches "St. John of Rila" in Petko Karavelovo, "Holy Ascension of Christ" in Radanovo and "Holy Nativity of the Virgin" in Polski Trambesh. Some of the holy images he created are now owned by private collectors in Greece and Italy. He learned the intricacies of icon painting from his grandfather Dimitar Kosev, who was a self-taught artist. It was from him that the Tarnovo native inherited his passion for art and his gift for painting.
“I love experimenting in art and allowing myself different freedoms both as a means of expression and as a technique. In my paintings, I use nets, leaves, soil, plastic. I have painted different images even on cardboard boxes. And my attempt to make a painting on marble turned out to be the most difficult,” the artist smiles.
Contemporary art with its unlimited creative freedom has attracted Dian Petrov for years. Initially, the young artist painted ordinary landscapes, then he was provoked by spontaneous realism, and now his paintings are the embodiment of abstractionism and postmodernism.
The art of the Tarnovo native is already well known to connoisseurs in our country and abroad. He has had solo exhibitions in Sofia, Plodovik, Veliko Tarnovo, etc. He has also participated in many general exhibitions in Bulgaria and abroad. His paintings delight connoisseurs throughout Bulgaria, as well as private collectors abroad, who regularly buy his paintings! He also participated in exhibitions in Hungary in 2024, a solo exhibition at the Grand Hotel Sofia. In 2025, a general exhibition in London at Theholyartgallerie
