Xandro Peña, an artist born in Cuba who currently resides and works in Madrid.

His work is in private collections in the United States, Mexico, Germany, France, Spain, and Sweden.

Blue orchids belongs to a series of works in which he explores contemporary floral composition where organic shapes and overlapping forms build a delicate balance between abstraction and representation. The vibrant palette of oranges, greens and deep blues creates a luminous and dynamic atmosphere, while the transparencies add depth, visual rhythm, and a sense of enveloping movement.

Although his artistic practice is primarily oriented toward painting, he maintains a constant relationship with engraving and digital media, both conceptually and aesthetically. His work investigates color, rhythm and structure, establishing a dialogue with contemporary abstraction and new ways of absorbing painting.

He has undertaken several artistic residencies in Spain and Portugal, experiences that have contributed to broadening his formal research and international projection.
Among his main references are Sean Scully, Bernard Frize, Brice Marden, Raoul De Keyser, Patricia Treib and Sarah Crowner.
