Press Start delves into the visual universe of digital nostalgia, merging references from pop culture, classic video games and urban aesthetics into an intense and fragmented composition. The presence of recognizable childhood icons contrasts with the human gaze at the center of the work, creating a tension between memory, identity and contemporary reality.
Inspired by the visual language of retro video games and the image saturation of the digital era, the work transforms playful elements into emotional symbols of a generation raised among screens, virtual characters and constant stimuli. The use of pixelation, graphic overlapping and vibrant colors approaches graffiti aesthetics and urban visual communication, reflecting the visual chaos of the current world.
In Press Start, the act of “starting the game” becomes a metaphor for building modern identity: an existence where nostalgia, entertainment and digital culture profoundly influence the way we see the world and ourselves. The work questions the boundary between reality and fiction, revealing a generation that continues to seek authenticity behind the visual masks of contemporary culture
