Description from the seller

PARIS is a 70 x 100 cm painting by Flavia Delgado inspired by the timeless elegance of the French capital and by the tradition of travel posters that for decades invited people to discover some of the world’s most emblematic cities.

The work places the Eiffel Tower as the absolute protagonist of the composition, rising among the classic Parisian facades and becoming a symbol of art, culture and sophistication. The urban perspective guides the gaze toward the monument, evoking the experience of strolling through the city’s streets and discovering, among its avenues, one of the most recognizable architectural icons on the planet.

Through a vintage-inspired graphic aesthetic, the artist uses expressive black lines, strong contrasts and a palette dominated by deep blues, vibrant reds and cream tones. The result recalls the visual language of old European travel posters, reinterpreted from a contemporary sensibility close to pop art.

Beyond the representation of a specific place, PARIS speaks of the desire to travel, of the fascination with history-steeped cities and of the ability of certain urban landscapes to become universal memories. The work captures the unique blend of romance, elegance and cultural energy associated with the Parisian imaginary.

With a refined visual presence and a marked decorative character, this piece adds sophistication, color and a traveling spirit to any art collection or contemporary space.

Seller's Story

I present a pictorial work line strongly linked to illustration and artistic poster design. My works combine the language of classic poster art with the plastic freedom of contemporary painting: flat colors, defined contours, direct scenes, and a clear narrative sense. My work dialogues with the tradition of 20th-century poster art, especially with the universe of Art Deco and European and North American advertising posters, where authors like A. M.. Cassandre, Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, and Leonetto Cappiello used synthetic imagery and color for visual impact. There are also affinities with European comic graphics and the clear line, from Hergé to modern editorial illustration. In my paintings, I depict interiors, architectures, figures, and travel scenes—such as roads, vintage cars, or landscapes—approached from a graphic perspective reminiscent of posters and illustrated books, but transferred to the realm of painting on paper and canvas. I aim for each image to function like a frame or a narrative poster, capable of suggesting a broader story without needing to explain it.
