Description from the seller

Splendid Canadian native art sculpture (Inuit) depicting a seal lying on its side, characterized by soft, sinuous lines typical of Arctic aesthetics. Artist: Signed by the artist Nowdla (inscribed on the plaque and presumably carved on the stone at the base of the work). Origin Community: Lake Harbour (now known as Kimmirut), Nunavut, Canada. Date of Creation: October 1983. Material: Native Arctic-region stone (serpentine or hard chlorite), mirror-polished with a dark coloration and deep natural veining. Certificate of Authenticity: Includes the historic Canadian government tag card 'Igloo Tag Trademark'. This international seal attests that the work was entirely hand-made by an artist of Inuit origin. On the back is also visible the round sticker with the inventory/identification number of the piece. Condition: Excellent vintage condition, with the natural luster and the characteristic streaks of the original stone."}】
