Description from the seller
Francesco Bocola is a multidisciplinary artist, uniting experiences and skills in a figure of the “inventor” of Art, Design, and the Project of the 21st century. After studying at the Brera Academy, he began to exhibit in Italian galleries as an informal painter. He made his debut at the Piccola Galleria del Polesine, introduced by Lucio Fontana and reviewed by Giuseppe Marchiori. The encounter with Pierre Restany, in the early 1960s, marks a conceptual turning point that leads Bocola to develop new research; it will be this journey that provides the setting for Restany’s performance-event La Segregation of Memory. The exhibition enjoyed great success and caught the eye of designer Pierre Cardin, who saw its potential and commissioned him a project in Paris for four years for the renovation of the Espace Cardin. Recently Bocola has developed the design and realization of the work The House on Mars.
