Description from the seller
Sagrasse (Sandro Grassetti, born in 1966) is a Marche-born artist whose life is rooted in artisanal craftsmanship. For forty years he worked in the shadow of his workshop in a small municipality between the hills of Marche, specializing at the highest levels in resin processing, varnishing, and chroming.
The turning point of his life comes with the COVID-19 pandemic: the forced lockdown and the suspension of time become an emotional catalyst, pushing him to unleash the artistic urgency he had always kept inside. What for decades had been “only” a technique of excellence thus becomes the means to give life to modern, vibrant, and ironic pop sculptures. Today Sagrasse has transformed his know-how as a craftsman into a recognized language of contemporary art, proving that it is never too late to give voice to one's most authentic talent.

Dimensions: 60x60x4 cm

Edition: 299ex.

In recent years his work has received important public and private recognitions, culminating in participation in prestigious exhibitions. Among these, prominent are the presence at the Contemporary Art Exhibition “Arte Venezia” in 2025, the collaboration with the VERUM Center for Art and Culture, and the inclusion of his works within the renowned private Fuser Collection. From craftsman to sign of the Neo-Pop scene, Sagrasse shows how a life’s experience can transform into pure and recognized artistic expression.
Sagrasse is not simply an artist who uses resin; he is a master craftsman who has liberated the technique from the constraint of function, putting it at the service of imagination. His works are colorful mirrors in which our society is reflected: pop, brilliant, ironic, and irresistibly modern.
Sagrasse’s work fits perfectly into the path of New Pop Art and Urban Art. While the association with Banksy is evident due to the strong satirical charge, irony, and the ability to reinterpret icons of everyday life or pop culture in a critical key, Sagrasse’s universe closely dialogues with other giants of the international scene such as Jeff Koons, KAWS, Takashi Murakami, Mr. Brainwash, Richard Orlinski.
The object is an exclusive Sagrasse creation.
It is a handcrafted work, conceived and produced entirely in Italy. The small imperfections that may be found are the natural characteristic of completely manual processing.
It is recommended not to expose to heat sources; clean with a soft cloth only, avoiding detergents.
