Angiolo Volpe, born in Livorno in 1943, has developed a great passion for painting since childhood that has accompanied him throughout his life. Thanks to his origins, Volpe was able to come into contact with the Macchiaioli painters, which influenced his style and technique.
The subjects Angiolo Volpe chose to treat reflect the love he has for his homeland, Tuscany, and in particular for the city of Livorno, the sea, and the Maremma. His art, permeated by a deep sensitivity toward nature and the elements that make up the landscape, represents the daily life of his land.
Volpe’s works have enjoyed great success both in Italy and abroad, being exhibited also in the United States and Japan. Critics have shown particular sensitivity to his ability to represent the soul of Tuscany and to express through his paintings the beauty and authenticity of his land.
