Description
With this work I wanted to capture that unique moment when the human being stops fighting the water and decides to become part of it. I was inspired by the feeling of absolute freedom experienced when diving into the sea, where the movement, light, and energy of the waves wrap the body and connect it with nature.
I worked the oil on canvas using expressive brushstrokes to convey the dynamism of the water and its reflections, seeking that each stroke conveyed strength, depth, and emotion. The figure, seen from behind with arms open, symbolizes surrender, inner peace, and the desire to embrace the unknown without fear.
My intention was to create a work that invites the viewer to feel the movement of the sea and to remember those moments when nature makes us feel free, alive, and in balance with ourselves.
Alejandro Carballosa, visual artist and Cuban designer residing in Spain, with a career marked by the exploration of strength, emotion, and beauty in the animal and human figure. His work combines technical realism with a contemporary vision, where color, light, and movement acquire a symbolic and expressive language.
